issue 5ifteen
 after Eileen Myles'
"The Twisting Tunnel"
in Issue Four of Pom2

Just twenty-three & standing in
with a guy
I’m hardly more than Iceland
a fountain, a logo

There is the twisting & turning,
the geyser tool—
How to love that?

I know I don’t need it

A woman’s knee
that terrible
formation
it’s cooler than water
and so something

Inside that terrific clutch
everything sweeps by
in one invisible learning

To explain this to you,
teaching the disgrace that holds
all of this
makes me will my voice
to at least portray something

No strand of shivering
flame, I don’t think it’s the train,
but jittering strands of us
that twist despair
